Happy New Year!
Here at Daiichi Takimotokan, we would like to extend our warmest New Year wishes to our guests near and far!
Our staff would also like to say a sincere “Thank you” for all the nice comments we received on our blog from guests and visitors in 2016. We are so pleased you enjoy it!
We will continue this year to provide information about our facilities, services and special events to ensure the best visit possible. Please visit our blog throughout 2017 to stay up to date.
The first day of 2017 greeted Noboribetsu Onsen with wonderful weather and a very calm day. As always, our guests were able to relax and enjoy welcoming the New Year without having to worry about the snow.
During the first two days of 2017, we celebrated with some wonderful events showcasing Japanese culture and style:
Hatsugama (First Tea Ceremony) by Teacher Minami Soya Otoso (Special Spiced Sake) for good health Shishimai Kadoduke (Lion Dance Ceremony) for good luck The photo above shows the exciting and dramatic “Lion Dance.”
In this traditional ceremony, if the Lion bites your head, nothing bad will happen to you for the rest of the year! It is based on a Japanese pun, “Kamu” which is both the word for bite and for ‘happiness comes.’
Our returning overseas guests especially enjoyed the Otoso (Spiced Sake) served by our staff in beautiful, traditional kimonos.
We look forward to sharing more with you throughout the year!
