August Lunch: Tomato and Basil Capellini

August has arrived, and the heat wave that started in July continues to simmer nationwide. We hope everyone is doing well and taking care of themselves in this weather.

We would like to introduce our August Lunch, which we think will help keep you cool!

Fresh Tomato and Basil Capellini Pasta

Capellini literally translates as little hairs, which is an excellent description for this pasta that is thin and delicate yet hearty. Our chef paired it with a tomato called Amera. It has a reputation for being richer in flavor and sweeter than the regular tomatoes. Together with the basil, it is an unforgettable and refreshing taste of summer served on an ice-cold plate! One taste, and we are sure it will tempt you to keep eating despite the heat!

Roasted Lamb and Fillet with Basil Sauce

Roasted lamb shoulder loin and fried lamb fillets make up the main part of this delightful dish. Both are thick and tender and rest in a basil sauce reminiscent of lamb soup. We recommend eating it with a bit of grain mustard, too. Garnished with some of our favorite summer vegetables including grilled eggplant, potato gratin, and sweet bell papper, we think you will find a cool summer lunch at Takimoto Inn.
